SGTC Library Orientation

An overview of general information about the library, including the hours and contact information for each campus, available library services, policies, etc.

What can your library do for you?

The library isn't just a quiet space full of books where you can print your assignments (although you can absolutely do that).

It also provides access to a wealth of online informational resources, as well as instruction in how to locate, evaluate and use that information effectively. You can access desktop computers and laptops where you can do your work, and make use of VR headsets where you can try out several different career paths.

If you want to know what the library can do for you, all you have to do is ask!

  • Don't know how to find what you need on GALILEO? Ask the librarian.
  • Don't know if using AI counts as cheating? Ask the librarian.
  • Confused about how to cite something? Ask the librarian.
  • Not sure if your paper is formatted correctly? Ask the librarian.
  • Need something to read for fun during your downtime? Ask the librarian.
  • Want to try out a few different career paths (welder, electrician, truck driver, nurse, and more) in a safe environment? Ask the librarian.
  • Don't understand what plagiarism is? Ask the librarian.
  • Have a question so specific or off the wall that you don't know where to start? Ask the librarian!

The library is here to help you succeed.
